On ne présente plus le réalisateur franco-iranien Hamid Sardar qui a notamment remporté il y a deux ans le Grand Prix du FIFAD avec « Mongolie, la vallée des ours ». Hamid Sardar revient cette année avec un nouveau documentaire tourné lui aussi en Mongolie, mais avec un autre animal emblématique de la région, l’aigle. Pour les nomades kazakhs qui vivent au pied des montagnes de l’Altai, la chasse à l’aigle est un loisir traditionnel. Mais lorsqu’une jeune fille capture un aigle sur le territoire d’un clan voisin, elle enfreint un code ancien qui se transforme en rivalité tribale.
French-Iranian director Hamid Sardar needs no introduction, having won the FIFAD Grand Prix two years ago with Mongolia, Valley of the Bears. Hamid Sardar returns this year with a new documentary, also shot in Mongolia, but featuring another animal emblematic of the region: the eagle. For the Kazakh nomads who live at the foot of the Altai Mountains, eagle hunting is a traditional pastime. But when a young girl captures an eagle on the territory of a neighboring clan, she breaks an ancient code that turns into tribal rivalry.
Der französisch-iranische Regisseur Hamid Sardar muss man nicht mehr vorstellen. Vor zwei Jahren gewann er mit „Mongolie, la vallée des ours” (Mongolei, das Tal der Bären) den Grand Prix des FIFAD. Hamid Sardar kehrt dieses Jahr mit einem neuen Dokumentarfilm zurück, der ebenfalls in der Mongolei gedreht wurde, aber ein anderes symbolträchtiges Tier der Region in den Mittelpunkt stellt: den Adler. Für die kasachischen Nomaden, die am Fuße des Altai-Gebirges leben, ist die Adlerjagd ein traditionelles Hobby. Als jedoch ein junges Mädchen einen Adler auf dem Gebiet eines benachbarten Clans fängt, bricht sie einen alten Kodex, was zu einer Stammesfehde führt.
